Councillor Richard Hudson
Becoming a Councillor is a privilege. I want use that community role to push the Council harder to ensure residents get the best services at the best value for money possible. Most of my work is done on the local planning and Neighbourhood committees. I have worked to ensure that developments are, as far as possible, appropriate and that neighbourhood schemes are in keeping with local needs and demands.
I have experience of sitting on the Scrutiny Committee which examines in detail the actions of the LibDem Executive challenging them and calling them to account. Both Ian and I now sit on the Tolworth development group which is looking at the way we want Tolworth and Tolworth Broadway to look in the future.
In addition I am on the Licensing Committee dealing with Premises, or Personal Licenses, or for Temporary Event permits. Since November 2005, Kingston Council has been the licensing authority for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. Licences are required by any premise in the Borough that either:
•Sells or supplies alcohol.
•Provides entertainment by way of music, dancing, indoor sports, plays, or films; or
•Provides hot food after 11.00pm
If you have any questions or issues on local matters please feel free to get in contact me, even if you think it appears minor – I would be delighted to help you.
Richard
